German beer in Mexico?

We returned to downtown San Antonio today and continued our trolley tour. We had a different driver/ narrator today and his presentation was more history and less stand up comic. This was to our preference as he was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. Besides, when was the last time you had a wantabe comedian tour guide who was genuinely funny? In addition to the misi὚ns we also took some time to stroll along on the famed Riverwalk, stopping to enjoy a meal of Texas BBQ.

Before we leave San Antonio I do have one story we heard yesterday. In the 1800’s large numbers of German immigrants relocated to San Antonio. In fact for a time German was the predominant spoken language, not English or Spanish. The German’s of course brought their brew master skills with them and soon were making beer. In the 1920’s when prohibition was enacted the Germans moved their breweries south to Mexico, Yes they invented the Corona and Dos Equis brands. The Germans took their music with them and introduced the accordion to the Mexican’s. And that my friends is why Mexican bands to this day always have an accordion. Yet unknown is how the Mexicans could take good German beer and make it so unpalatable that you have to put a lime in it before you can drink it?

We detoured past the dam on our way home today; I took some pictures of a marina. It still had some floating docks way down the cliff from the store but it was pretty much a ghost town.
I'm standing where the water level should be.
